    Its been Sep 17 since we last met for the breakfast meet with a visit to the Jeep dealership at Andheri. The latest is happening this Sunday..a drive to Mumbai's favourite weekend destination - Lonavla. Sheetal the dhaba is chosen by MULTIJET this time and although the alcohol ban is a bummer, I am sure JB and Multi will figure out a work around Either that place or Mummy's Homely Food for Maharashtrian thalis as suggested by Neelay.

    The attendees -

    1] Multijet aka Sanju - Palio Stile 1.3 MJD;
    2] Neelay - Palio 1.2 (tentative till last moment);
    3] Johny Boy - VW Polo 1.2;
    4] Haydn - Friend's Grand i10;
    5] Prashu from Bangy may join us - Palio Stile 1.3 MJD;
    6] Ameya - Will ride along with Sanju;
    7] Rajesh and his lovely pet dog - Punto MJD; and
    8] Roms - Palio 1.6 Sport

    We intend to assemble near Mc Donald's, Kalamboli and take the old route to Lonavla at 7.30 am, head to the Bushi dam bridge for pictures with our steeds, maybe a drive to Tiger point if time permits and then head to the dhaba. Let's start the drive back home by 3 pm so everyone is home before the Sunday evening rush hours.

    Re: Mumbai Tete-a-tete

    Father's Day to all the caring fathers out there! But even Fathers day and the heavy downpour since morning did not deter the four Mumbai Fiatians who had their minds on tasting some delicious Iranian food.

    Rajesh, Neelay, Subodh and myself decided to head towards Koolar & Co. at Matunga East where one gets to visit quite a few old time and famous restaurants such as Madras Cafe, Rama Nayak's Udupi and the like.

    While service was prompt, the owner is one chatterbox and kept finding 'bakras' to talk to. Add in a good dose of expletives and you will be assured of remembering this place long after you savoured the good food! There is a long list of things you are prohibited to indulge in, including 'combinf your hair' or 'sitting too long'..it's just funny and you can't help but chuckle.

    Guess it's all part of the old world charm but there is something really comforting in enjoying the rains and feasting on omelettes, Brun maska, chicken puffs et all. We started off with raspberry soda and ice cream soda to go with the 5 egg laden 'Iranian Wrestler omlette' which was good but the chicken cheese masala omlette' was even better. So were the hot chicken puffs. While the Iranian mutton Keema was so-so, the Chicken masala gravy was delicious with just the perfect zing to it. We ended with some caramel custard.

    All in all, a good outing but we missed Hrushi who was keen to join in but was unable to make it from Kalyan.

    What a lovely afternoon to spend at a Irani restaurant with like minded guys

    The food was good, could have been better IMO but still nothing bad to write it off. The Ice cream and Raspberry Sodas were awesome. Had this first time in my life!

    OMG don't remind me of the owner Yes that's how i felt in the end...man what a stamina, the time we entered and we exit, this guy was non-stop blabbering anything he felt like. He simply just wanted someone to listen to him irrespective who the other guy is - waiter, customer or any vendor! One of a kind this Irani guy was!!

    Glad to see you guys and lets plan for another Irani joint soon guys
