IMO FIAT MID shows almost accurate mileage. Lets minus 2kmpl from 27kmpl and still it has fabulous mileage. Isnt it?

Re: My FIAT Grande Punto 90HP (Abarth)

Yesterday I Completed a milestone of 44,000 kms and now planning for 4th servicing (45,000km) at Pandit Auto Bavdhan.

It will be a routine service along with problem of over acceleration as mentioned in another thread.
After servicing I need change the tires and battery as well.

    I am looking for

    Apollo ALNAC 4G Tubeless
    Accelera Alpha Tubeless
    Roadstone CP 672 Tubeless
    Bridgestone MY02 Tubeless

Out of these 4 tires I am not aware of Accelera and Roadstone brand but they have good reviews on internet.
Apollo ALNAC 4G& Bridgestone MY02 are almost priced same and has same features as well.

I used Apollo and they have long time, I am not aware about life of rest of tires can you please let me know more about Accelera and Roadstone tires.

    Ah Punter-

You have opened up a topic which we puggers and mfwians consider sacred. What tyre is a question which is as complex as the which girl to marry question and we will help you with some ideas, but the call has to be yours.

First of all, it would be great if you can list out your expectations from the tyre:

    - Is your focus performance or comfort?
    - What's your usage pattern, highway or city? On-road/Off-road?
    - What is your budget?
    - Are you ready to sacrifice tyre life for extra performance (stickiness)?
    - Do you like your ride quiet or can put up with some road noise for performance?

Just for your info, am not sure which series of Apollo you run, but they are a middle of the road tyre, neither performance focused not comfort.

Since you have made them last 44,000 kms, I assume that they are slightly hard compound and that you are a kind driver.

Do let us know your thoughts so that we can expand on this topic further.

Please note that there are Michelin/Bridgestone/Continental/Yokohoma/MRF fan boys here and you will get a lot of views. Be prepared to be confused

    cheers,
If everything is in control, you aren't going fast enough.

Yes I am a kind driver and usually my top speed is 120kmph.
    My first preference is

    Tyre life then
Brand doesnt matter to me, I am looking for value for money proposition.
No I am not ready to sacrifice tyre like.
I am looking tires which has good dry and wet grip.

Yes I am aware of this mnemonic and I was also witness of those debates on tires. Thanks to MFW Meets.

Really, apollos are better value for money which can run for 44k to 45k.

If you are not going for more than 120 or 150 kmph then apollos are better. After all these tyres are OEM fittings from the manufacturer.

Apollo ALNAC 4G are cost line bit more costly than MY02 on change my tyre dot come. Apollo acceleres are cheap and value for money. Only negative point is tyre noise.

For a moment I found these questions a lot similar to what you would ask yourself before agreeing to an arranged marriage.

Re: My FIAT Grande Punto 90HP (Abarth)

I had run my Palio close to ~88K before parting off and the factory fitted tyres were Brigdestone which lasted for 35K Kms, and then went for Michellin XM1 but they lasted only 22K plus KMS. Later on went for GoodYear Duraplus tyres and it went on for 31K and the threads are looking as good as new and can last for another 15 to 20K but not sure whether its available now, bout would suggest to look at this also the drive is better than Bridgestone and Michellin and its in between soft and hard and braking was excellent too...

When they launched that time it was available only in R13 and that fitted my Palio, they were giving warranty of 1L Kms, not sure what all covers under warranty...

Re: My FIAT Grande Punto 90HP (Abarth)

If you are looking for grip & comfort, get the Comfort oriented tyres like Michelin XM2, Bridgestone Turanza, Yokohama A drive, or MRF ZLO.
Yoko & MRF seems to be VFM tyres.
