    Lightbulb Fiat Ritmo..a classic re-imagined!

Ritmo is Italian for 'rhythm'. The original Fiat Ritmo was a 1978 runaway hit from Fiat and it was replaced in 1988 by the Fiat Tipo. Typical of Fiats from that era, it had distinct front styling and the rear of the hatchback resembles that of the Uno.

The Ritmo featured an all independent suspension set up and was one of the first Fiats to be built using robots, giving rise to its advertising slogan "Handbuilt by robots"! Fun fact - VW's Spanish car brand SEAT licensed the Fiat's design and the SEAT Ritmo was produced in Barcelona, Spain and sold between 1979 and 1982. There were 3 petrols - 1.1(60PS), 1.3(65PS) and 1.5(75PS). Apart from the 4 speed manual gearbox, there was a 3 speed automatic sourced from Volkwagen. More info here -

Now, a designer named Paolo Schermi, who started his career in the 1980s at the Fiat Style Centre (the same design house responsible for the original Ritmo), has made a graphic interpretation and reimagined what the car could look like if Fiat put it into production.

The front end looks a bit busy and could be toned down on the sportier version, the regular version looks good. However, I personally loved the side profile and the rear end which makes it look like modern classic. What do you guys think?
