    Using Unused Switches

In the lower models of Palio SD/SDE, there are 2 unused switches on the rhs of DISTRESS/PARKING lights' switch. How can those be brought to use as I'd like to use them for DRL

    Re: Using Unused Switches

Sorry, these unused or fixed switches are on the LHS of the distress/parking switch. Error is deeply regretted

    Re: Using Unused Switches

The AC Switch Panel of SD, SL variants of Palio Stile does not have defogger button.

If you want a functional button for SD, SL variant I would suggest you to buy a new AC Switch panel and use the defogger button to connect to the DRLs. Instead of connecting it to defogger (which is not present in base variants) connect it to the DRLs.
Skilled electrician can do this for you.

You can buy a new AC switch panel on below link. Rs. 1741.

Why don’t you add a new button on your Palio’s dashboard (keep it hidden somewhere) and connect to the DRLs with direct connection from battery.

Wish you best luck with this.

To add an additional switch to the panel, this is what you need to do:
Get an additional push switch from any discarded panel. You'll be lucky if your mechanic has one.
Open the panel to expose the PCB inside:

Fit the PCB and the panel properly. The LEDs are optional and may use if desired for alerting that the switch is ON.

It's working fine and at the price paid, the output wattage is low. Shall post pics the next time. But I was successful by design that the blocked switches can be made functional.

Did not destroy any original wiring. Used the relay, albeit in a crude fashion, but technically correct to carry the load current and connected the +tve end to the +tve of the PCB by adding an extra probe into the multi-pin female connector:
