    Diesel Sweating

Well, that's what the local mechanic said. Diesel engines sweat diesel. Please do let me know what it is. LHS of the engine is the exact place.

    Re: Diesel Sweating

I had heard something on these lines from an Indicab driver who used to shuttle us to office many many years ago.

In his context it was to do with the smell of diesel within the cabin which made us nauseate if we were in the car for extended periods of time.

I am not sure if what your mechanic is referring to is something else.

One of my friends petrol swift has the same symptoms. He replaced the cap too but the smell still there.

    Re: Diesel Sweating

Thats a leak of Diesel from the fuel tank which must be causing a strong smell within the car. Get the car up on the ramp and check out the fuel tank.

As for the photos, not sure what happened. Can you try again?

Please note that there isn't any smell of diesel inside the cabin.

Thats a normal thing in most of diesel cars. There is no leakage its only the moisture and mud deposits. It is due to vapour from fuel line.

    Re: Diesel Sweating

Well, it was realised on close inspection that the part is not from my vehicle. However, took it to New Sagar Diesels opposite Oriya Para Lane in Bhowanipore in Kolkata. They simply replaced 2 washers and charged 350 INR. Problem solved
